Reviews
The establishment was very clean and inviting. The staff was friendly and attentive. Greeted me as soon as I walked in. It didn’t take a long time for me to place my order, maybe about 5 or 10 minutes, which is understandable since it was pretty full. I had a Mixed berry muffin and a flat white cappuccino. They were delicious, zero complaints. The order took about 8 minutes or so to come out. They also have cocktails available and an outside patio. Overall great experience will definitely be coming back again.
Name is a nice nod to La Réunion - a utopian socialist community formed in Dallas in 1855. Nice space, nice service, nice coffee. Everything very nice, nothing to complain about, but nothing very distinctive or worth remarking on (hence 4 not 5 *).
Only stopped for coffee, no cocktails or food, so take this as a coffee shop review not a restaurant review.
This is one of my favorite coffee shops to visit in Bishop Arts. The coffee is delicious and the atmosphere is cozy yet lively. I absolutely love the plant decor 😍😍
The indoor seating fills up pretty quick, so I’d recommend arriving early to grab a good seat or opt for the patio area. I’ve tried 2 dishes so far: the croque madame (which is delicious) and the French onion soup (which needed more flavor).
At times the service can be slow, even on a semi busy day so that constitutes 4/5.
Great location, just like anything here in the bishop arts area. When it comes to service I’m unimpressed. Barista or whomever is working the register area should be greeting or at least acknowledging guests when they walk in/ up to counter. Really brings the whole experience down a notch when staff seem unfriendly and unapproachable, and do not acknowledge you for a solid 5-7 minutes. People come to coffee shops for the experience, if I knew it was going to be so underwhelming I would’ve went to Starbucks.
Coffee was decent.
All day brunch menu...breakfast tacos were gross. Eggs were runny, seemed uncooked. We ordered 8 tacos, two each on four plates... all the same treatment, runny and uncooked. Asked about gluten free options. They said go next door to other restaurant, we don't have accommodations for that. Ridiculous. They did make up for that comment slightly by setting up another heater outside after first one stopped working. Inside atmosphere is great. Limited seating inside.
I recently discovered a hidden gem of a bar that completely captivated me with its enchanting atmosphere and incredible live singer. The vocalist's voice was pure magic, with each note resonating deeply and soothing the soul. Their mesmerizing performance created an ambiance that transcended the ordinary, effortlessly setting the tone for the entire bar/restaurant.
But it wasn't just the captivating performance that impressed me; the deliciousness of the alcohol beverages added another layer of delight to the experience. Every sip was a delightful journey of flavors, carefully crafted by skilled mixologists who clearly knew their craft. From expertly balanced cocktails to an impressive selection of spirits, the drink menu was a treasure trove of libations that tantalized the taste buds and elevated the entire experience.
The combination of the soul-stirring live music and the delectable beverages created an atmosphere that felt like an escape from the worries of everyday life. It was an oasis where one could immerse themselves in the melodic sounds and savor the incredible flavors, leaving all problems at the door. If you're looking for a place to unwind, let go, and be transported by the power of music while indulging in extraordinary beverages, this bar is a must-visit. The live singer will touch your heart, the drinks will please your palate, and you'll leave with a renewed spirit and a desire to return to this haven of comfort and joy.
I ordered a hot latte, she put way too much foam in my drink that I barely had any drink it was all foam. it was the red curly haired barista, some people are just not meant to be baristas. her service was terrible as well.
Very cool outdoors indoors area. Service was great. 5 stars for both of those. 4 stars for the coffee. (Iced vanilla latte and flat white). Parking is always interesting around there. Croissant and kolaches were 3 stars. The bread was good but the sausage and ham inside were cold.
